Spheres - Half Drilled

Half Drilled hole Gemstone Spheres

These spherically shaped gemstones have been half-drilled. This means a short hole has been drilled on one spot on the sphere (it does not go all the way through). SS "Pearl Cup" Earposts (one example shown in picture) can be used with the half-drilled spheres for making earrings. They also can be used with a SS Bail with Pin to make drops that can be strung on a necklace or chain. Green Aventurine in picture is no longer available. Sold individually.

Short Flat Tab, 16x18mm

Discounted item notes: Remaining Amethyst is pale or has chevron or pale brown/white areas in the gemstone. Remaining Chrysoprase is pale or has black to brown inclusions. Some of the Chrysoprase also has slight surface irregularities that co-incide with the light brown inclusions.

Pentagon - Unset Gemstone

Samples shown in Tiger Eye, Black Obsidian (no longer available) and Rose Quartz - these measure about 24x20mm. Similar to a cabochon, these pentagon shapes are flat on the back; they have bevel cut sides. All surfaces are polished.

Samples shown in (top row) Rhodonite, Malachite, Picture Jasper, Lapis Lazuli (bottom row) Chrysoprase, Amethyst, and Tiger Eye. Sterling Silver findings that fit this item can be found at Sterling Silver Findings. While all Mini tabs will fit in the Sterling Silver finding, some are cut thinner than other and you may not care for the fit. Thinner tabs will be marked in the menu to identify them (thin). This shape is sometimes also called a gemstone "mini tongue".

Beveled Triangle Cabochon

Samples shown in Chrysoprase, Blue Lace Agate, Amethyst, (bottom row:) Tiger eye, Rose Quartz and Canadian Rhodonite. Triangle shapes measure about 20mm to 22mm tip to tip and they are flat on the back like a cabochon. The sides are beveled, as shown. As you can see from the picture, the Canadian Rhodonite triangle is slightly larger than the other gemstones triangles.

The gemstone triangles above can be made into pendants by gluing on a bail. We sell a wide variety of sterling silver, pewter and copper gluing bails and other gluable findings on our ChoiceJewelrySupplies.com website. See the entire selection at Glue On Findings. These bails will work with most items with flat backs (cabochons). Sometimes also referred to as a wedge shape. Samples shown in Malachite and Picture Jasper. Shapes are available in both drilled and un-drilled configurations - please see menu for availability. Shapes that do not have a drilled hole are designed for gluing (bead appliqué), wire wrapping or bench jewelry. Shapes that are drilled have a hole in the top center (front to back orientation, holes are small: about 0.75mm) All shapes have rounded and polished fronts and flat backs.

Wing Shaped Cabochon

Malachite Wing Gemstone Shape cabochon

Sample shown in Malachite. Shapes do not have a drilled hole; designed for gluing (bead appliqué), wire wrapping or bench jewelry. Can be used with one of our Glue On Pendant Bails as shown in the sample on the right to create a pendant. Rounded and polished fronts, flat back, overall size is about 15x25mm. Note that shapes are cut so that the long edge is either on the left or the right. If you would like mirrored pairs or multiple pieces that are cut all the same direction, please let us know at the time of placing your order.
